HÄBI HÄBI PÜKSIS KÄBI

HÄBI HÄBI PÜKSIS KÄBI

MONA museums exhibition about Re-use and upcycle inspired this installation on the topic of “ ROOTS”.

Grandmother used to say in Võru language
“ Kas sul häppü ei olq vai?”

(translation “ Are’nt you ashamed?”)

So from a specific time on it became a thing of aware and proud rebellion to wear broken stockings.

And inpired by her vocal heritage I created this installation called “Shame shame, cones in your pants”, which is a sentence all Estonians know from their childhood, as a sentence to make them feel ashamed of something they had done “wrong”.
